Buried shower curtains

Renovations and additions are ongoing at First Baptist Church on Tyler St. Workers unearthed some rare treasures on Thursday -- shower curtains and shower rods.

On the south parking lot of the church, just in front of where the Family Life Center now sits, once resided the Amarillo High School Armory. The old Amarillo High was just across the street before it burned in 1970.

A pretty good sized hole about seven to eight feet deep unearthed a bit of the past. The basement of the Armory housed, among other things, a rifle range and dressing facilities. That obviously included showers as curtains and rods can attest.

No telling what more digging may uncover.
