A sneak peek

The Tascosa High School women's choir has received a rare honor. They are the only high school women's choir selected out of 287 submitted internationally to perform next week at the American Choral Directors Association's national convention in Oklahoma City.

In fact, only 20 choirs in all will perform during the convention.

Tascosa will sing at 7 tonight at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is free and open to the public. The men's choir will perform first followed by the women.

The Tascosa women will also sing at 2 p.m. Sunday at Polk St. United Methodist Church. They are scheduled to perform at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 5 in Oklahoma City.

I've heard several high schools in the metro area and I've always been impressed by their range and richness of voice. They are, in short, everything that I am not.
