Benefit for Bruce

Everyone has to eat, right? And everyone has to eat on a Monday night, right? So why not drive over to the Blue Sky Restaurant, 4201 W. Interstate 40. Basically, I-40 and Western, this March 29 during the evening hours.

Many of the proceeds that night will go to help Bruce and Tanya Beck. As many of you know who are familiar with the Globe-News, Bruce is battling cancer and has for more than a year. Bruce has worked at this newspaper for about 30 years with a number of duties.

He's best known as the guiding force behind "Our Town," the weekly supplement that covers non-profits and community news. His byline is probably in scrapbooks all over town. Bruce has been good to a lot of people.

Now, thanks to the good folks at Blue Sky, a lot of people have a chance to be good to Bruce and his family's mounting medical bills. Go get one of their good hamburgers, or some cheese fries or anything on the menu. The more the merrier. You'll get a good feeling in your stomach and a good feeling helping the Beck family.

JMB - Is the benefit for Bruce at Blue Sky tonight? If so, I'm there and I'm giving my entire block a ride.
